Fundraising

We do three main fundraisers at High Plains: the Run4Fund$/Read4Fund$ in the early fall, the school auction in September, and the Soaring to Success fundraising campaign in the spring. Every single contribution—small or large—helps our community greatly and is used within the school year it is raised.

We also sell Spirit Wear in the fall (visit our Cheddar Up page), publish yearbooks for purchase through January (visit our Cheddar Up page), and host Hungry Hawks spirit nights at local restaurants.

There are also several no-cost opportunities to raise money for our school by simply doing the things you and your family normally do! Please consider participating in the King Soopers Community Rewards programAmazon Smile, and Box Tops for Education.

Fund Raising Parent’s Letter:

Dear High Plains Parents,

Welcome to the 2021/2021 school year at High Plains! The PTCO is excited to have our students return to learning! Because this year will still look a little different as we balance our new normal, our fundraising goals and activities will also look different. We want to continue to make our fundraising efforts as easy for everyone as possible. We are happy to have our auction back to kick off our fundraising efforts. Mark your calendar for Friday, October 8 and watch for more information.

Last year, we hosted an event called Read 4 Funds where students collected pledges for reading minutes. This was such a successful and fun event last year that we are bringing it back again this year! Students will be encouraged to read for 20 minute increments and will collect pledges for the amount of reading they do.  We will begin this event in late September. Be on the lookout for more information coming soon!

There are also many no or low cost opportunities available during the year to raise money for our school by simply doing the things you and your family normally do like using your King Soopers card, Amazon Smile, Box Tops for Education app, and our newest addition – Scrip for gift cards. In addition, the PTCO is still planning to host some dining options at local restaurants called Hungry Hawks that benefit the school. The sale of spirit wear is another way we use to meet our fundraising goals.

Our annual PTCO budget goes toward academic enrichment funds that we give to each teacher for his or her class, money for technology for the classrooms, and helping to support the salaries of our Teachers’ Assistants.
